The Hungarian Garden Heritage Foundation (MKA), in collaboration with NÖF National Heritage Protection and Development Non-profit Ltd., contributes to the conservation of a herbarium collection, specialised library and gene bank of outstanding value even at European level. The technical condition of the building that has hitherto hosted the collection in Budakeszi, created and financed by the International Dendrological Foundation, have seriously deteriorated. Thanks to the generous offer of NÖF Non-profit Ltd., this unique collection will find new home in the Amadé–Bajzáth–Pappenheim Palace and Garden in Iszkaszentgyörgy. Professional organisations work together for the reform of Hungarian tree nursery

An interprofessional consultative forum, established on the initiative of the Hungarian Garden Heritage Foundation, with the participation of the Hungarian Association of Ornamental Tree Nurseries, the Interprofessional Association of Hungarian Ornamental Gardeners, the National Association of Hungarian Fruit Tree Nurseries, the Green City section of the National Association of Hungarian Garden Builders, the Kertész Unió, the Hungarian Association of Landscape Architects and the Hungarian Association of Tree Care Professionals, will develop an action plan for the renewal of the quality improvement of green space management in Hungary, including the promotion of the situation of Hungarian nurseries. The package of proposals includes the development of a green space management strategy and the role of Hungarian nurseries, the development of a national trademark for organic production and the research background of ornamental plants, and the extension of the integrator and export role of a central nursery.

The architecture of the 21st century must be national, the old is always better and more beautiful than the new, said János Lázár, Minister of Construction and Investment, at the 3rd Mihály Mőcsényi Conference on Garden Art and Garden History in Fertőd, Hungary. The Minister announced that the government will submit a new building concept to the National Assembly in the autumn, which will include a special chapter on the protection of cultural heritage.

The 5th Forum of the European Route of Historic Gardens (ERHG)

Mintegy 13 ország hetven résztvevőjével rendezik meg az Európa Tanács alá tartozó European Route of Historic Gardens éves rendszerben visszatérő szakmai fórumát, s ehhez kapcsoltan idei közgyűlését és szakbizottsági ülését, amelynek szervezésével magyar tagszervezetüket, a Magyar Kertörökség Alapítványt bízták meg. A fórumnak a Petőfi Irodalmi Múzeum ad otthont, fő témája pedig az irodalom és a kertek kapcsolata. A szervezet közgyűlésén új tagok felvételéről is döntenek.
