Hungarian Garden Heritage delegation in the UK discusses further cooperation

A delegation of the Hungarian Garden Heritage Foundation in the United Kingdom discussed with the leaders of the Trust Organisation and the Historic Gardens Foundation the opportunities for Hungarian students to spend their internships in English historic gardens, funding sources and cooperation in promoting Hungarian historic gardens.

Hampton Court Palace, Standen, Nymans Garden, Sevenoaks – Knole Park, Sheffield Park – some of the famous historic gardens known to garden lovers outside the island nation, which the Hungarian Garden Heritage delegation of Dr. Ágnes Herczeg, Dr. Albert Fekete and Edina Nagy has also visited during their trip to England. The Hungarian experts were able to gain insight into the everyday life of professionals, many of whom have decades of experience in operation and maintenance, and into addressing the challenges of crises and climate change. Foundation members also discussed further opportunities for cooperation with Catherine Leonard, Secretary General of INTO, which welcomed MKA as a member last November. During the meeting, the possibility of Hungarian landscape architecture students doing internships in the island country in historic gardens managed by the National Trust for periods of 4-6 weeks was discussed. Also, the Secretary General of the organisation informed the members of the Hungarian delegation about the grants available in the framework of INTO international cooperation. During the professional trip, the MKA delegation met Gillian Mawrey, Editor-in-Chief of the Historic Gardens Review, who offered her help in presenting Hungarian historic gardens to both British professionals and interested visitors.
